Do online lessons really work?

Absolutely! We've found that our online students have actually progressed at a faster rate than in-person lessons with our engaging, kid-friendly curriculum.

We use colorful visuals, screen sharing, play-along tracks, class recordings, and more to make learning effective and fun!

Do we need special equipment?

Do we need special equipment?

Nope! Just a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and mic (laptop or desktop preferred), and your instrument. A quiet space and music stand are helpful, but we’ll guide you through any tech setup!

What platform do you use for lessons?

We use Zoom for its high-quality audio, screen sharing, and interactive features like whiteboards and breakout rooms.

How do you handle technical issues?

We are happy to help students with tech issues that may arise, but we do expect that students have reliable Wi-Fi.

If there are Wi-Fi issues at class time, teachers will assist however possible. If a lesson is disrupted due to tech problems on our end, we’ll work with you to reschedule or make up the time.

Can parents sit in on lessons?

Yes! Parents are welcome, especially for the first lesson while they're getting started online learning.

We do encourage kids to build independence and confidence as they get comfortable.

What is included in the kickstarter?

This is a 30-day experience for kids ages 8-14 who are TOTAL beginners.

It includes four 50 minute group lessons (set time once/week), four 25 minute 1:1 lessons, and a self-paced course (tech set up guidance & step-by-step video tutorials for all concepts and songs learned in the program).

How do I find a time that works with my schedule?

How do I find a time that works with my schedule?

During your Parent Planning Call, we’ll look at your family’s week and choose a group class time that works for your schedule from our pre-existing groups. If you decide to continue after the initial intro month, you’re welcome to stay in that same weekly spot as long as it works for your family.

If we are not able to find a group time that works for your scheduled, we can send the lesson recordings instead for your child to watch on their own time. 

When will our 1:1 lessons be?

When will our 1:1 lessons be?

During your Parent Planning Call, we’ll look at your family’s week and choose a recurring weekly lesson times that works for you (for example, Tuesdays at 4:00 pm). Your child will keep that same time and teacher for all 4 weeks of the Kickstarter, and if you decide to continue after the month, you’re welcome to stay in that same weekly spot as long as it works for your family.

What is your cancellation & rescheduling policy?

Students are allowed 1 rescheduled lesson per 60 days for 1:1 lessons, as long as the studio is notified 24+ hours in advance.

A makeup credit will be issued that the family can use to self-book a makeup lesson time outside of their usual weekly lesson time.

How do I pick a teacher?

When we meet for our free Parent Planning Call, we'll consider your students' goals & personality type, and compare schedules with our teachers' availability to determine the best fit for a teacher for your student.

What if I need to discontinue lessons?

If you ever need to take a break from lessons, just send us an email at hello@minimusiciansstudio.com. We ask for 30-day notice of discontinuation so we can wrap up lessons smoothly.

During group lessons, students stay muted while the instructor teaches. They can unmute anytime to ask questions, share, or perform!
